Welcome to Undergraduate Economics at McMaster University!

Martin Dooley and Undergraduate class 2006

Professor Martin Dooley and his Economics 4A3 class, April 2006.

I hope you find economics as interesting and as useful as we do. It is relevant for everything from financial markets to public policies to our daily lives. And the McMaster economics program is one of the best in Canada. Current faculty members are leading researchers in all major areas of economics and former economics undergraduates at Mac have gone on to outstanding careers in academics, law, finance, politics and industry. One is a President and CEO of Tim Hortons. Another just finished being Chair of the Department of Economics at Yale. One has even won the Nobel Prize in Economics!

The first step is to get your degree. There are a number of options. The information and links on this page are intended to provide you with detailed information concerning those options. Answers to many other frequently asked questions are also provided on this page. Answers not provided on this page can be found by consulting an Academic Counsellor (see the link for office hours) or by e-mailing me at dooley@mcmaster.ca.

Best wishes for a very successful program at McMaster.
