Changes to second year intermediate microeconomics courses

The Department of Economics will be introducing a change to our second year intermediate microeconomics courses for Fall 2019.

Mar 13, 2019

Moving forward, we will be offering two new courses, Econ 2Z03 – Intermediate Microeconomics I and Econ 2ZZ3 – Intermediate Microeconomics II. This sequence will replace the required courses of Econ 2G03 and 2GG3.

For students with credit already in Econ 2G03 and 2GG3, these courses will still fulfill your intermediate microeconomics requirements for your degree. For students with credit in Econ 2G03 only, we will be offering Econ 2GG3 three more times for you to complete the sequence. Econ 2GG3 will be offered in Spring 2019, Fall 2019 and Winter 2020. The department will no longer be offering Econ 2G03 (or Econ 2X03 - Applied Business Economics).

This curriculum change was made as an effort to more closely align our intermediate microeconomics sequence with the way it is taught at most other universities in Canada and around the world.

If you have any further questions regarding this change, please contact the Department at econug@mcmaster.ca or stop by during our office hours.
