Accommodations for students with disabilities
Disability Services works with applicants who have confirmed that they are attending Mohawk College and current students who suspect they have a disability and those who have a documented disability such as:
- Physical disability
- Learning disability
- Mental health condition
- Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing
- Blind, low vision
- Acquired brain injury
Disability Services offers:
- Case Management to support the development and delivery of a personal program of services and academic accommodations
- Facilitation of academic and learning skills assessments in support of the development of individualized learning plans or contracts
- Learning strategies and adaptive technology assessment and training
- Academic accommodations such as the use of support persons (e.g. note takers, tutors), classroom and testing accommodations
- Assistive technology such as text to speech technology
- Alternative formats such as electronic textbooks magnified or read aloud by a computer

General Information Sessions are offered every month for prospective applicants to learn about the range of services available through Disability Services. Parking is at no charge and interested attendees are encouraged to pre-register, particularly if they require accommodations to attend a session.
