Globalization & Transnationalism


Our Department has outstanding research strength in the area of globalization and transnationalism.  This strength within the department is complemented by links between various faculty members and graduate students with the Institute on Globalization and the Human Condition at McMaster University. 

Stephen McBride holds a Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Public Policy and Globalization.  

Robert O’Brien holds the LIUNA/Mancinelli endowed professorship in Global Labour Issues, which focuses on global civil society, labour and globalization. 

Karen Bird - citizenship, multiculturalism and globalization

James Ingram - Cosmopolitanism

Peter Nyers - refugees and globalization

Tony Porter - financial standards and globalization

Don Wells - labour and globalization
