Global Political Economy

Our Department has an exceptionally strong concentration of expertise in Global Political Economy (GPE). Such faculty include:

 

These faculty members are also known for their long standing contributions to International Political Economy (IPE), including:

  • Tony Porter’s work on the international regulation of finance and private authority in international affairs
  • Robert O’Brien’s work on multilateral economic institutions and global social movements
  • Richard Stubbs’ work on Asia-Pacific Relations and
  • Stephen McBride's work on neoliberal globalization and North American political economy. 

 

In addition, two of the faculty members have edited or written IPE text books:

  • Richard Stubbs and Underhill’s three editions of Political Economy and the Changing Global Order
  • Robert O’Brien and Mark Williams’ three editions of Global Political Economy; Evolution and Dynamics.
