Faculty
There are a number of ways for faculty members to become involved in Experiential Education (EE). As a Faculty member, you can:
-
Identify one of your promising students and encourage them to apply for an Undergraduate Student Research Award and assist them by supervising/ mentoring them through the research process.
- Incorporate an experiential opportunity into an existing course with an Academic Placement, allowing your students the opportunity to gain practical experience linked to the theories learned in class, while contributing to the community around them.
- Support an eager student who applies for a Student Experience Grant, by supporting them in writing their learning plan and mentoring them through their learning experience.
-
Share
your input and expertise with us by sitting on one of our committees:
- Experiential Education Governing Council (EEGC) – help determine the direction of experiential learning in the Faculty through this faculty and student committee that meets twice per academic year.
- Undergraduate Student Research Award Committee – review a selection of applications each year in February.
- Student Experience Grant Review Committee – review applications and meet as a committee over several deadlines to allocate funds for student experiential learning opportunities.
If you are thinking about adding an experiential element to your course/department or want to discuss existing experiential opportunities in your course/department, please contact us:
