Hilary
Gibson-Wood, MA,
completed
her post-secondary studies at the University of Toronto, receiving a
BA in Spanish and International Relations in 2006 and an MA in Human
Geography in 2010. Currently, she is a research associate in the
Department of Health, Aging and Society at McMaster University and a
research coordinator at the Centre for Research on Inner City Health
(CRICH) at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto.
Hilary works with CRUNCH as the study coordinator for the Halton-Hamilton site of the GTA West Social Housing and Health Study, supervising research assistants and engaging with the big picture questions of the study, including ways to increase its relevance to policy makers and other stakeholders.
Hilary's personal research interests lie in environmental justice, community engagement and food justice in urban centres. She is a member of the Environmental Health Justice in the City (EHJiC) research interest group, sits on the board of directors at Karma Food Coop in Toronto, and is a novice balcony vegetable gardener.
