Chair's Welcome
| Welcome to the Website of the Department of Economics at McMaster University. At the undergraduate level, the Department offers a B.A. in Economics, an Honours B.A. in Economics, a number of combined Honours degrees, and a minor in Economics for students pursuing an Honours degree in another discipline. At the graduate level we offer both an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Economics, as well as an M.A. in Economic Policy. All of our programs permit students to obtain training in economic theory and quantitative methods as well as opportunities to take courses in a wide range of areas of specialization. The Department includes faculty experts in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, experimental economics, health economics, international economics, labour economics, monetary economics, population economics and public economics. Much of their research is applied to policy issues and utilize advanced quantitative techniques. The Department has a number of research centres with links on our home page.
